William Wallace

Tenor

William Wallace won the 2016 Handel Singing Competition at the London Handel Festival, for whom he has since sung Messiah, Simeon/Judah Joseph and his Brethren, the Winners’ Showcase and a lunchtime Recital.

In recent seasons William Wallace has also performed Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle, Handel’s Messiah, Theodora, Judas Maccabeus and Acis and Galatea, Haydn's Harmoniemesse, Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio, Bach Cantatas, Magnificat and the Bach St Matthew and St JohnPassions.

His operatic engagements have included Tamino/The Magic Flute (Mid Wales Opera); Prologue, Peter Quint/The Turn of the Screw and Gastone/La traviata (Rye Festival); Don Ottavio/Don Giovanni (Winslow Hall Opera and Opera Project); and The Mayor/Albert Herring and Zweiter Preister/Die Zauberflöte (Royal College of Music International Opera School). He recently covered Arbante/Hipermestra at Glyndebourne Festival and Ferrando/Così fan tutte for Glyndebourne On Tour.  

William Wallace studied at the National Opera Studio, London, generously funded by the Nelly Groner Trust. He previously graduated from the Royal College of Music with a Masters Degree in Performance (Distinction).
