Soprano Suzanne Fischer recently won first prize at the Oxford Lieder Young Artist Platform 2016, the Förderpreis for most promising young artist at Das Lied: International Song Competition 2015 as well as the Pavarotti Prize at the 65th Viotti Competition in Italy.
In Autumn 2017 she returned to Glyndebourne Festival Opera, singing as a soloist in the Semi-Chorus of Brett Dean’s Hamlet. In 2016 Suzanne Fischer sang the solo of Elsie Suddaby in Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Vladimir Jurowski and performing in Glyndebourne’s The Cunning Little Vixen and Die Meistersinger.
Suzanne Fischer recently performed as Queen of the Night at the Gala to open the 2017/18 season at HARPA concert hall in Reykjavik, Iceland and debuted as Berta in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia with Münchener Kammeroper. Earlier this year she sang the role of Lady Sapphir in Patience for English Touring Opera. Further opera engagements have included Ginevra/Ariodante, Gilda/Rigoletto and Konstanze/Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
Suzanne Fischer read Music at the University of Edinburgh and Università degli Studi di Milano and completed her masters in Gesang (Oper) at the Hanns Eisler conservatoire in Berlin. She is mentored by sopranos Norah Amsellem, Laura Claycomb and Laura Aikin.
