Sophie Goldrick

Mezzo-soprano

London-born Sophie grew up in Sydney, Australia. She trained in acting at Theatre Nepean, in Sydney, and the Royal Northern College of Music where roles included Nancy/Albert Herring and Arsamenes/Serse. 

Selected roles include: Diana/La Calisto for Longborough Festival Opera, Moppett/Paul Bunyan for English National Opera, Hänsel (cover)/Hansel and Gretel for Grange Park Opera, Dinah/Trouble in Tahiti for Stage Left Project, Ruth/The Pirates of Penzance for Merry Opera Co., Flora/La traviata and Kate Pinkerton/Madama Butterfly for West Green House, Alcina/Orlando Paladino for Opera Purpur, Pitti-Sing (cover)/The Mikado for Scottish Opera, Emilia/Otello for the Al Bustan Festival, Ramiro (cover)/La Finta Giardiniera and Kascheyevna (cover)/Kaschey the Immortal all for Buxton Festival, title role/Carmen for Opera on Location and Focus Opera. 

Sophie has also sung with Opera Australia, Wexford Festival Opera, King’s Head Theatre, The Monteverdi Choir, Grange Park Opera, Clonter Opera, Benslow Baroque Opera & the Gabrieli Consort. 

Sophie is a member of the English National Opera. She also produces new opera with her company Shadow Opera; their original podcast opera Veritable Michael is available to download now.
