Satoshi Kubo is a Japanese pianist based in London, working as a freelance pianist and opera répétiteur. Born in Oita, Japan, he graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, studying with Itamar Golan, Jeff Cohen, and Roger Muraro, and deepened his passion for chamber music at the Festival Pablo Casals in Prades.
A 2017–18 Young Artist at the National Opera Studio in London, supported by the Nomura Foundation, Kubo has since built a distinguished career in opera. Since 2018, he has been a coach for the Jette Parker Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House, and has collaborated with international and independent companies including the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Philharmonie de Luxembourg, Blackheath Halls Opera, Barefoot Opera, Clonter Opera, The Opera Story and Wild Arts.
In addition Kubo is firmly committed to music education and community engagement. He dedicates a part of his professional activity to the tuition of young people and also to community projects.
Kubo is currently researching Yasuji Kiyose’s works, with a focus on the use of the Japanese language in art song performance.
