Soprano Sarah Marie Kramer has been described as ‘an outstanding artist’ by Austrian Radio (ORF). She is fast establishing herself as a formidable talent on the operatic stage, following performances Ottavia/L’incorinazione di Poppea, Countessa/Le nozze di Figaro, and Amelia/Un ballo in Maschera.
Sarah Marie was one of four singers chosen as a Young Artist by Katharina Wagner for the Bayreuth Festival's Mesiterkurs and Villa Wahnfried concert programme in 2018 and 2017. She has appeared under the direction of Friedemann Layer, Richard Egarr, Masaaki Suzuki, Reinbert de Leeuw and Thomas Rösner. International festival appearances include the Bayreuth Festival (the Villa Wahnfried), Aldeburgh Festival (Snape Maltings) and the Oxford Lieder Festival (Holywell Music Room). In 2020, Sarah Marie debuts at Vienna’s Schönberg Centre and the Musikverein. Upcoming concert work include Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder, R. Strauss’s Vier letzte Lieder, Beethoven’s Ah Perfido!, Haydn’s Scena di Berenice and Arianna a Naxos. Operatic debuts include Vitellia/La Clemenza di Tito, Freia/Das Rheingold, Sieglinde/Die Walküre and Gutrune/Götterdämmerung. Sarah Marie earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, the Netherlands. She holds a double Bachelor of English and History from the University of Guelph, Canada. Sarah Marie is mentored by the Wagnerian soprano KS Linda Watson. She was a finalist in the prestigious Lauritz Melchior International Singing Competition for young Wagnerians, and Munich’s International Richard Strauss Wettbewerb.
