Rosalind Dobson

Praised for her ‘perfectly sky-high coloratura’ (Bachtrack) and ‘silver voice’ (The Stage), Rosalind Dobson is a rising star on opera and recital stages alike.

As well as making her role and house debut as Gretel with Longborough Festival Opera in 2026, she also debuts as Elle in La Voix Humaine in Germany with the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and sings Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder in Zürich.

Rosalind is a passionate interpreter of contemporary opera and, following her cover of Mette in Mark Antony Turnage’s Festen at the Royal Ballet and Opera Covent Garden last season, she will also create a new role with The Music Troupe at The Space Theatre in London and has been commissioned by the Australian Government to devise and perform in a new opera in Sydney, Australia.

Rosalind studied English Literature at Magdalene College, Cambridge, before completing her professional training at the Royal College of Music, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and the National Opera Studio (NOS).

During her time at NOS she appeared in scenes during company residencies as Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos/WNO), Tytania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream/ENO), Fiorilla (Il Turco in Italia/Opera North), Sophie (Werther/Scottish Opera) and Norina (Don Pasquale). She also worked with notable conductors, directors and coaches, including Adele Thomas, Keith Warner, Rachel Nicholls, and Peter Robinson.

Rosalind is generously supported by the Carne Trust.
