British soprano Lizzie Holmes is gaining recognition as a versatile and dynamic singing actor and keen spokesperson for classical music. Recent highlights include her ROH Crush Room recital debut, Laurette/Doctor Miracle (Wexford Festival), Dew Fairy and cover Gretel (Grange Park Opera), title role/Sāvitri (Hampstead Garden Opera) and headline soloist for Raymond Gubbay’s Johann Strauss Gala (including NYE at Barbican Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Royal Festival Hall).
Other highlights include title role/The Coronation of Poppea (Ryedale Festival), Cunegonde/Candide (Minack Theatre), Mimi and Musetta/La bohème (Olivier Awards nominee ‘Best New Opera’, Trafalgar Studios); soprano soloist for Bands of the Household Division (Cadogan Hall) and recitals at the Royal Albert Hall, St James’ Piccadilly and St Martin-in-the-Fields.
Lizzie is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and Warwick University. A Concordia Foundation Artist, she was awarded ‘Best Supporting Actor’ at the National Student Drama Festival, made her West End debut in The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty’s Theatre) and has worked professionally in devised theatre. Lizzie founded DEBUT in 2015 and returns to the RCM as Guest Lecturer on Creative Enterprise.
