Lizzie Holmes


Soprano Lizzie Holmes was born in Dorset, educated in Surrey and grew up in Ethiopia, Hong Kong and Australia. Recent highlights include Cunegonde/Candide (Surrey Opera, Minack Theatre); Dew Fairy/Hansel and Gretel (Grange Park Opera) and the Olivier Award Nominated ‘Best New Opera’ La bohème as Mimi and Musetta (King’s Head Theatre, Trafalgar Studios). Recent solo recital debuts include St Martin-in-the-Fields, Royal Albert Hall, and Cadogan Hall with former Classic FM Composer in Residence Patrick Hawes and the Bands of the Household Division. 

Lizzie graduated with distinction from the Royal College of Music, prior to this she read English Literature at Warwick University, worked in devised theatre and was awarded ‘Best Supporting Actor’ at the National Student Drama Festival. Other highlights include Poppea/Coronation of Poppea (Ryedale Festival), Despina/Così fan tutte (Devon Opera); Miss Wordsworth, cover/Albert Herring (Grange Festival); Susanna/Marriage of Figaro (Bloomsbury Opera); Mavis/A King’s Ransom (Into Opera, Britten Sinfonia); Amor/Orpheus & Eurydice (Opera in the City); Narrator/Joseph (Bach Choir); Madame Giry/Phantom of the Opera (West End debut).

Lizzie is a Concordia Foundation Artist, BYO alumni and Carne Trust scholar. She founded DEBUT in 2015, their internationally renowned Airbnb Concert Series was recently featured in Opera Now and Lizzie often returns to the RCM as guest speaker on Creative Entrepreneurialism. /
