British soprano Lizzie Holmes is gaining recognition as a versatile and dynamic singing actor and keen spokesperson for classical music. A graduate of the RCM and Warwick University (English Literature) she is a Concordia Foundation Artist, supported by the Carne Trust and ACE England and was awarded ‘Best Supporting Actor’ at the National Student Drama Festival. She founded DEBUT in 2015 (Top 5 Airbnb Experience Globally 2018) and returns to the RCM as Guest Lecturer on Creative Enterprise.
Recent highlights include her Royal Opera House Crush Room recital debut, Laurette/Doctor Miracle (Wexford Festival), Dew Fairy and cover Gretel (Grange Park Opera), Destino/La Calisto (Longborough Festival), title role/ (Hampstead Garden Opera), headline soloist for Raymond Gubbay’s Johann Strauss Gala (NYE at Barbican Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Royal Festival Hall). Other highlights include title role/Coronation of Poppea (Ryedale Festival), Cunegonde/Candide (Minack Theatre), Musetta & Mimi/La bohème (Olivier Awards nominee ‘Best New Opera’, Trafalgar Studios), Madame Giry/The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty’s Theatre) and recitals at St James’ Piccadilly, Royal Albert Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields and Cadogan Hall with the Bands of the Household Division.
2021/22 plans include Donna Elvira/Don Giovanni, Eurydice/Orfeo ed Eurydice, Silvia/Zanetto and Queen of the Night/Die Zauberflote.
