Lauren Easton is an Australian/Mauritian, mezzo-soprano based in Brighton. Roles for Glyndebourne have included Magdalena in Sir David McVicar’s production of DIE MEISTERSINGER VON NÜRNBERG, Amarella THE YELLOW SOFA (Julian Phillips), Sandman HANSEL AND GRETEL, Bat / Chair* L’ENFANT ET LES SORTILÈGES, Dryade* ARIADNE AUF NAXOS, Flora LA TRAVIATA and Lucretia* RAPE OF LUCRETIA.
Other roles include Dalila SAMSON ET DALILA for Bury Port Opera, Siegrune DIE WALKURE for Grange Park Opera, Maddalena* for Opera North’s RIGOLETTO, Juliana Bordereau in THE ASPERN PAPERS for Pegasus Opera Company and most recently Brangäne for The Grimeborn’s TRISTAN UND ISOLDE – she will cover the same role for Longborough Festival Opera this year.
Lauren has been the recipient of the Sony Foundation Scholarship, the Australian International Opera Awards Scholarship, the Marten Bequest, the Australian Music Foundation Award and the Robert Presley Professional Development Award. To these organisations, she gives her ongoing thanks.
