The Ukrainian-German soprano Kateryna Kasper is celebrated for her versatility across opera, oratorio, and lieder. She has performed at leading international venues and festivals, known for her nuanced interpretations.
Recent highlights include her Berlin State Opera debut as Empress Arianna in Vivaldi's Il Giustino and Soprano I in Mozart's Mass in C Minor at the Salzburg Festival, as well as her performances as Venus in Mozart's Ascanio in Alba and Micaëla in Bizet's Carmen at the Frankfurt Opera. She sang Handel's Aci, Galatea e Polifemo in Montréal and on a European tour with René Jacobs. Her oratorio appearances include Bach's St Matthew Passion with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra across Europe and South Korea.
In the upcoming season, she will debut as Elettra in Mozart's Idomeneo at the Teatro Real Madrid, the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Concertgebouw Amsterdam as well as appearing at the Tonhalle Zurich, Berlin and the Vienna Konzerthaus.
As a member of the Oper Frankfurt since 2014, her repertoire includes roles like Pamina, Susanna, Sophie, and Gretel.
Her recordings include abums Ein süßes Deingedenken, with songs by Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn and O wüßt ich doch den Weg zurück… features romantic songs about childhood and fairy tales, recorded on the historic Steinway of Richard Wagner in Bayreuth, as well as Freischütz with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra.
