Julien Ségol

Bass-Baritone

After working in the diplomatic service and teaching philosophy at university, Julien Ségol decided to devote himself fully to his first passion, changing career to study singing both in Paris and Leipzig. His first appearances on stage were in Germany, where he sang in various renowned venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the RBB Radio, the Academy of Arts and the Delphi Theatre (Berlin).

His main stage roles include Alfio Cavalleria Rusticana, Brander La damnation de Faust, Crespel Les contes d'Hoffmann, Sarastro Die Zauberflöte and Thésée in Rameau’s Hippolyte et Aricie. In concert, he has performed with the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester (Berlin Philharmonic), and with the Orchestre de Paris. A multidisciplinary artist with a passion for dance, Julien also regularly collaborates with choreographers for contemporary creations.

His recent appearances include concerts with the Orchestre de Picardie, alongside performances at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad, and recitals at the Cercle Wagner and at the Villa Schwartz in Berlin with pianist Keval Shah; on the operatic stage, he sang Der Tod Der Kaiser von Atlantis at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg. 

This is his full UK debut and his future plans include Schaunard La bohème at the Opéra de Metz.
