Bass-Baritone Joe Chalmers is a recent graduate of Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a Masters of Performance, where he will continue his studies on the Opera course in September 2022. Notable roles include performing the role of Captain Corcoran in the final show as a cover in HMS Pinafore with English National Opera, Bass Shepherd and cover Plutone and Caronte (L’Orfeo, Garsington Opera), Martino (L’occasione fa il Ladro, British Youth Opera).
Joe has also performed as Chorus and Waiter in Der Rosenkavalier with Garsington opera. During his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Joe performed the roles of Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro, Guildhall), Sid (Albert Herring, Guildhall Scenes), Escamillo (Carmen, Guildhall Scenes), and Belcore (L’elisir d’amore, Guildhall Scenes).
