Javier combines a busy freelance schedule as accompanist and répétiteur with his work at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland as coach for the Vocal and Opera department.
A graduate of the Estonian Academy of Music and the RCS, he’s been the Scottish Opera Emerging Artist pianist for the seasons ’23-25 and was part of the troupe of Britten-Pears Young Artists in 2022. He’s also the Music Director at Cadder Church. Recent collaborations include English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Opera Holland Park, Grange Park Opera, The Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Labeaume en Chant Music Festival in France as artist in residence.
Operatic Highlights include Falstaf, Otello and Werther at Grange Park Opera. Un Ballo in Maschera, La Bohème and Don Giovanni at the Royal Danish National Opera. Il Barbiere di Seviglia, Marx in London, La Traviata, Oedipus Rex and The Makropulos Affair at Scottish Opera, Orfeo ed Euridice at the Edinburgh International Festival and L’Enfant et les Sortilèges with RSNO. He’s had the opportunity to work alongside conductors like Laurence Cummings, Stuart Stratford, Martyn Brabbins, David Parry, Julia Jones and Gianluca Marcianò among others.
