He Wu

Soprano

Chinese soprano He Wu studied at the Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Royal College of Music International Opera School and at the National Opera Studio where she was supported by the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. She is a Samling Scholar, winner of the Lies Askonas Singing Competition 2015, the Voice of China European Competition 2014 and a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Competition 2016.

He’s opera engagements include Receptionist/Between Worlds (Tansy Davies) for English National Opera; Diana/Giove in Argo (London Handel Festival) and Queen of the Night/Die Zauberflöte, La princesse and Le Feu/L'enfant et les sortilèges (Royal College of Music). Concert highlights include Mahler/Symphony No. 2 (BBC Symphony Orchestra), Vivaldi/Gloria and Mozart/Exsultate, jubilate (Amersham Festival Chamber Orchestra); Beethoven/Mass in C and Choral Fantasy (St John’s Smith Square) and the UK premiere of Xian Xinghai/Yellow RiverCantata (London Chinese Philharmonic Choir). She has given recitals in the London Symphony Orchestra Schubert Series and at King’s Place. He Wu was chosen to sing before the First Lady of China, Madame Peng, on her visit to the UK in 2015.
