Héloïse Bernard was raised in Paris where she studied Humanities and Theatre. She obtained a Masters degree in French Language and Literature, specialising in the French Enlightenment period. Following her academic studies she started her vocal training and graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Vocal Performance.
French Coach at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland since 2018, she teaches
French Language for Singers and the French Repertoire classes for the Vocal Department. She visits the Royal Northern Conservatoire of Music monthly for French Workshops for singers, and regularly covers the French classes at the Royal College of Music in London. She’s been invited to coach at the Mascarade Opera Studio in Florence.
French Coach for the Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland since 2019, she’s worked on Les Mamelles de Tirésias and Le dialogue des Carmélites (alongside Sonja Nerdrum) and recently on a successful production of L’étoile, by Chabrier, as well as Cendrillon by Massenet.
Héloïse collaborates with Scottish Opera, the Edinburgh International Festival Chorus, and has worked for Grange Park Opera (Werther, 2023), Garsington Opera (Platée, 2024). She is looking forward to this year’s production of Pelléas et Mélisande at the Longborough Festival Opera.
