Emma Ryott’s work in theatre includes: The Young Chekov; Seagull, Ivanov, Platanov (Chichester Festival Theatre and National Theatre London); The Heart of Robin Hood for the RSC in Bergen, Boston, Uppsala and Toronto (Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Design and Dora nomination for Outstanding Costume Design); Rock ‘n’ Roll at the Royal Court, in the West End and on Broadway, Sunset Boulevard, Göteborg Opera. 

Designs for ballet include: Lulu (Stuttgart Ballet); Anna Karenina (Korean National Ballet); New Year’s Day Concert 2016 (Vienna, Chor: Jiri Bubenicek); Verdi Requiem and Der Sandmann (Ballet Zurich, Chor: Christian Spuck); Anna Karenina Oslo, Moscow and Zurich, Romeo et Juliette and Sonnett for Ballet Zurich; Wozzeck in Oslo and Zurich; Leonce and Lena in Essen, Montreal, Stuttgart and Zurich; Der Sandmann in Stuttgart, Riga and Zurich; Lulu eine Monstretragödie and Das Fräulein von S for Stuttgart Ballet; Poppea//poppea for Arte; Don Q at Theaterhaus Stuttgart; and The Return of Ulysses for Flanders Ballet and the Edinburgh Festival. 

Opera includes: Marco Polo (Guangzho Opera); Winterreise (Zurich Opera); The Flying Dutchman (Deutsche Oper); Cinderella (Finnish National Opera); The Great Gatsby in Dresden; The Damnation of Faust for Deutsche Oper Berlin; Falstaff in Wiesbaden; Orphée et Eurydice in Stuttgart; Berenice at Göteborg; Nine at Malmö; Otello in Salzburg and Teatro dell’Opera Di Roma; Mathis der Maler at Theater an der Wien (Austrian Music Award for Best Production); The Damnation of Faust in Dresden; and Manon Lescaut at ENO.
