Emma Charles

Soprano

Emma Charles, a native of New Zealand, is a soprano with experience in both opera and choral singing.

She has performed the roles of Adina/L’elisir d’amore, Papagena/Die Zauberflöte, Emmy/Albert Herring, Ida/Die Fledermaus, Mabel/Pirates of Penzance, Doctor/Kommilitonen!, Bridesmaid/The Marriage of Figaro, Casilda/The Gondoliers, Cosette/Les Misérables, Frog/The Cunning Little Vixen, Fairy/Centrillion and cover Roselinda/Die Fledermaus.

Emma has experience in opera choruses including Le Cid, La bohéme, La traviata, Les Indes Galantes and Hansel und Gretel. Emma has been a member of the London Philharmonia Chorus since 2017, a touring soloist for a winter wonderland spectacular and toured internationally with the Australian Girls Choir for G’day USA’s tourism campaign. Emma was a young artist with Pacific Opera in Sydney, Australia and holds a Master of Arts from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
