Eleanor Stephenson

Dancer

Eleanor is a contemporary  dance artist, who, alongside creating and performing, offers dance-specific strength and conditioning coaching.

Born and raised in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, Eleanor trained at Rambert School, where she graduated with a 1st class BA in 2018. Since, she has achieved a 1st class MA in Dance Performance with Emergence Postgraduate Company, performed nationally and internationally with a number of choreographers, devised a research project on repertory-specific strength and conditioning, and now manages the supplementary fitness training for Joss Arnott's Emergence company. She has recently enjoyed performing an outdoor dance circus piece with Autin Dance Theatre: Parade The Giant Wheel in Macau, China.

Choreographers Eleanor has worked with include: Joss Arnott, Kevin Finnan, Roisin Whelan, Shobana Jeyasingh, Gosia Mielech, Ashley Paige, Dane Hurst and Jason Mabana, as well as having performed works by Robert Cohan, Dan Wagoner and Richard Alston to name a few. Personal highlights have been Rambert Company’s A Linha Curva by Itzik Galili and performing at the late Queen’s Coronation Festival, Buckingham Palace. Eleanor additionally enjoys sharing her skillset through rehearsal directing, and teaching, from young dance students to professionals alike.
