Eera Gupta

Dancer

Eera is a dancer from India, currently based in London. At the age of seven, she began her dance studies in India, focusing on jazz, contemporary, and modern dance forms. She obtained her professional dance certification from The Danceworx Academy of Performing Arts and was awarded a scholarship by Ashley Lobo to learn with Navdhara India Dance Theatre in Mumbai, India. To explore and experience the world of dance on a wider scale, she moved to London where she trained with Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, acquiring her degree in BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance.

Eera has performed in operas at the Royal Opera House, London and at Waterperry Opera Fesitival, Oxford. Her recent work includes a dance solo for Kiran Nadar Museum of Arts with a piano accompaniment. Additionally, she has collaborated with and performed in repertory pieces created by choreographers such as Jean Abreu, Uday Shankar, and Joel Brown of the Candoco Dance Company. Eera's movement quality is driven by intention. She believes that movement is generated to be experienced and felt. It is a juxtaposition of intuition and the present state of mind. She believes that movement holds the power to free the mind and the body of any constraints and to experience life in the present part.
