Baritone

Edmund studied at the Royal Academy of Music and National Opera Studio supported by the Glyndebourne New Generation Programme, and Peter and Helen Blumer.

Operatic roles include Satan in Martinů's Larmes De Couteau and The Swineherd in Harbison’s Full Moon in March (The Royal Opera), the Housemate in the premiere of Oliver Leith's Last Days (The Royal Opera and LA Philharmonic), Junius in Britten’s Rape of Lucretia, Dandini in La Cenerentola and Mizgir in Rimsky Korsakov’s The Snowmaiden (English Touring Opera), Hermann Levi in the UK premiere of Avner Dorman’s Wahnfried (Longborough Festival Opera), Don Giovanni (Waterperry Opera Festival), Demetrius in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream (Nevill Holt), Colline in La Bohème (Northern Ireland Opera), Eddy in Turnage's Greek (Arcola Theatre) and the Lakai in Ariadne auf Naxos (Glyndebourne).

On the concert platform, engagements have included Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius, Verdi’s Requiem, Bach’s St John and Matthew Passions, Handel’s Messiah, Brahms’ Requiem and Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs at venues such as Cadogan Hall, Trinity College Cambridge, and the Southbank Centre.
