​Duncan Stenhouse (Emerging Artist)

Bass

Canadian-British bass Duncan Stenhouse is a recent graduate of Royal Academy Opera, where he studied with Raymond Connell and Iain Ledingham. He is a Help Musicians Sybil Tutton Opera Award recipient.

Operatic appearances include Superintendent Budd/Albert Herring, Bartolo/Le nozze di Figaro, Norton/La cambiale di matrimonio, Keeper of the Madhouse/ The Rake’s Progress, Maestro Spinelloccio and Il Notaio/Gianni Schicchi and Bottom/A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Royal Academy Opera, Chorus in La bohème with Opera Holland Park, Chorus in Der Rosenkavalier and Rusalka with Garsington Opera, Crespel in Les contes d’Hoffmann and Sarastro in Die Zauberflote at Halifax Summer Opera Festival, and the Caterpillar in Will Todd’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland at Memorial University.

This summer Duncan sang in the chorus and covered the role of Il Commendatore in Hurn Court Opera’s Don Giovanni and performed in the chorus of Opera Holland Park’s Tosca.

Duncan also looks forward to joining the Ensemble Studio at Canadian Opera Company in Toronto in August 2024.
