Claire Wild

Soprano

Claire Wild attended the Royal Northern College of Music‚ sponsored by the Peter Moores Foundation and the Musicians Benevolent Fund. She won the Webster Booth Award‚ the James Oncken Song Prize and the Frost Brownson Award. Recent performances include Lilli Vanessi, Katharine/Kiss Me, Kate and Emma/Khovanshchina (Welsh National Opera); Caridad/The Skating Rink (Garsington Opera); Elle/La voix humaine (Welsh National Opera, Aldeburgh Festival); Mimì/La bohème (OperaUpClose); and Susanna/Le nozze di Figaro (Regents Opera). Other highlights include Zerlina, Papagena, Gretel, Frasquita and Despina (Opera North); Leona/La Belle Helene (English National Opera); Herald/The Minotaur (Scottish Opera); Papagena (Komische Oper); and Cherubino (Theater Bielefeld). Claire has a passion for contemporary music and has performed in many world premières including Quin/Knight Crew (Glyndebourne); Frog/How the Whale Became and Pussycat/ The Owl and the Pussycat (The Royal Opera); Errollyn Wallen’s Anon (Welsh National Opera), and the title role in Richard Ayres’ The Cricket Recovers (Almeida Theatre, Aldeburgh Festival, Staatstheater Stuttgart). She most recently premiered five new works for soprano and cimbalom with the Psappha Ensemble.
