Christopher Diffey was born in Melbourne, Australia and completed his bachelor of Music with Honors at Monash University and then at the Royal Academy of Music Opera Course in London under the tutelage of Philip Doghan and Audrey Hyland.
He has worked for companies including Scottish Opera, Opera North, Linbury Studio, Covent Garden, Garsington Opera, Opera Holland Park, Bury Court Opera, Opera Project, Tête à Tête, in festivals including Aix-en-Provence, Edinburgh, Garsington, Longborough, Buxton International, Gilbert & Sullivan and Iford Arts. His repertoire includes Rodolfo, Don Jose, Alfredo, Count Almaviva, Lensky, Ramiro, Dardanus, Pedrillo, Prunier, Fenton, Ernesto, Luna / Silvio / PasquinLe Docteur Miracle,Odoardo in Ariodante, Condulmiero in Maometto Secondo, Macheath and roles in several Gilbert and Sullivan, Viennese and French operetta.
Engagements in 2016 include Odoardo Ariodante (Dutch National Opera), Goro Madama Butterfly (Bury Court Opera) and title role Candide in Rostock.
