Caro Lutz

Director - Emerging Creative

Caro Lutz is a German Performance Maker and Festival Producer, based in London. She began her formal training in 2015 at the University of Hildesheim in the BA Arts of the Scene, where she developed a distinct artistic language characterised by the use of transcribed interviews, video projection, choreography, and site-specific practice. Her 2019 play, Heim-werkerpoesie, was invited to the BestOFF Festival (Stiftung Freier Theater Niedersachsen), and she was later awarded an artistic research residency at Theatre Wrede+ Oldenburg in 2021.

Parallel to her creative practice, Caro has built an extensive career in festival production. After co-directing the 9th edition of the interdisciplinary festival State of the Art in Hildes-heim, she joined the production teams of the Ruhrtriennale and the Duisburg Film Festival. Her portfolio expanded post-graduation to include engagements with the festival under con-struction at the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, a return to the Ruhrtriennale, and the Bregenz Opera Festival. Since relocating to London in 2022, Caro has completed an MA in Performance Making at Goldsmiths College and has established herself as a dramaturg, col-laborating with multiple performance artists to shape their works.
