Brian Smith Walters

der Schreiber

Described by Pierre Boulez as ‘un musicien formidable’, tenor Brian Smith Walters began his professional career as a horn player before turning to singing. In recent years, he has performed such roles as Siegmund Die Walküre, Peter Grimes, and Melot Tristan und Isolde.

Brian has performed on BBC Radio 3 and 4; SWR Radio; NDR Radio and Television; and African Television and in festivals such as Lucerne, Schleswig-Holstein, Buxton, and Aldeburgh.

The Financial Times called him "full-blooded." Wagner News said 'Smith Walters’ voice assumed a beautiful, bronzed sheen, with “Wälse! Wälse! ringing out like a battle cry and “Winterstürme” triumphantly tender.’
