Anna Cavaliero

Soprano

Anna Cavaliero is a young British-Hungarian soprano, based in London. A regular performer of oratorio, song and baroque repertoire, Anna recently gave a recital of chamber music, ‘Vivaldi and beyond’, at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace. She was awarded the Cuthbert Smith Prize in the RCM Lies Askonas Competition 2017.

In August 2018, Anna will make her role debut as Zerlina/Don Giovanni for Waterperry Opera Festival’s inaugural season. Former opera engagements have included Mab and Adelaide/The Enchanted Pig (HGO); Die Prinzessin/The Hogboon (Karina Canellakis, Philharmonie Luxembourg); Galatea/Acis and Galatea (RCM, Snape Maltings); Sandmännchen (cover)/Hänsel und Gretel (RCMIOS); Pamina/The Magic Flute (CUOS); La Musica and Proserpina/L’Orfeo (Theatron Oneiron); and Annina/La traviata and Flora/The Turn of the Screw (Euphonia Opera). 

In 2017/18, Anna studied singing with Barbara Bonney on the postgraduate course at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg. She was previously a Drapers de Turckheim scholar at the Royal College of Music (MPerf, distinction), choral scholar at Trinity College, Cambridge University (MA, English Literature), and CD Broad visiting scholar to Rice University, Houston. Anna is a three-time Britten-Pears Young Artist and alumna of the Internationale Händel-Akademie, Karlsruhe.
