Alys Whitehead

Designer

Alys Whitehead is a Set and Costume Designer who trained at Central Saint Martins. She was a Resident Designer at the New Diorama Broadgate studios and was a 2024 JMK finalist. As designer, Alys’ theatre work includes: The Da Vinci Code (Salisbury Playhouse, Mercury Theatre Colchester); Tender (Bush); Bedroom Farce (Hornchurch); Revenge: After the Levoyah (Summerhall, Yard); This Might Not Be It (Bush); The Angry Brigade (LAMDA); Sorry We Didn’t Die at Sea (Park); Snowflakes (Park); Lysistrata (Lyric Hammersmith); Sad (Omnibus); Maddie (Arcola).

As associate designer, her work includes: Macbeth (Pinter); The Glass Menagerie (Rose Theatre, Belgrade Theatre, Alexandra Palace and UK tour); Earthworks (Young Vic); My Beautiful Laundrette (Leicester Curve & UK Tour); Wordplay (Royal Court); Zoe’s Peculiar Journey Through Time (Theatre Rites/Southbank Centre & International Tour); Sea Creatures (Hampstead).

Alys has also assisted on a number of high-profile productions, including Dixon and Daughters (National Theatre) and Sound of the Underground (Royal Court Theatre).
