Explore Opera
Suitable for Key Stage 3,4 and 5
Delivered by our workshop practitioners (professional singers from the industry) students will be introduced to the world of opera.
- Making links to the curriculum, students will explore opera’s elements through music, singing, and improvisation.
- Understanding the art form and its history.
- An introduction to some of operas most famous composers.
- Our workshop practitioners will perform arias from various operas allowing discussions for voice types, vocal techniques, and the evaluation of performance.
- Students will build on their self-confidence, self-expression and on their own performance technique.
- This workshop allows for collaboration and creativity as students will create their own scene from an opera.
Attendees of the workshop will be invited to the Dress Rehearsal of Tristan und Isolde (Thursday 18th June) or Macbeth (Tuesday 30th June) during the 2026 festival at Longborough Festival Opera.


Explore Macbeth
Suitable for Key Stage 3,4 and 5
Delivered by our workshop practitioners (professional singers from the industry) students will explore Verdi’s Shakespeare-inspired opera and Longborough’s new 2026 production.
- Making curriculum links, students will explore the story of Macbeth.
- Explore how Verdi and the librettist used Shakespeare’s text.
- Our workshop practitioners will perform arias from Macbeth allowing discussions for voice types, vocal techniques, and the evaluation of performance.
- Staging of the production will be explored relating directly to Longborough’ s production.
- Students will build on their self-confidence, self – expression and on their own performance technique.
- This workshop allows for collaboration and creativity as students will create their own scene from Macbeth, understanding creating an atmosphere on stage, for example the Witches Chorus.
Attendees of the workshop will be invited to the Dress Rehearsal of Macbeth (Tuesday 30th June) during the 2026 festival at Longborough Festival Opera.
Explore Orlando
Creative Talk and Dress Rehearsal Invite
Thursday 28th May
Suitable for students 18+
An onsite creative talk (30 mins) with Longborough Festival Opera's Artistic Director Polly Graham, exploring Orlando and giving an insight into the production. This talk is directly followed by the dress rehearsal of the production at Longborough.
