Pre-performance concert: Summer Classics

Charity Concert

Sunday 2 July, 2.30-3.15pm

With a string quartet from the orchestra of Longborough Festival Opera
St James’s Church, Longborough GL56 0RF
Suggested ticket donation £9

Come to Longborough ahead of the Fidelio performance on Sunday 2 July for this education fundraising concert. A quartet of musicians from our orchestra present a selection of summer favourites - including Borodin Polovtsian Dances, Schubert Ave Maria, Fauré Pavane, and film soundtrack classics (The Sound of Music Suite, Harry Lime Theme and Over the Rainbow).

All proceeds go towards our education and outreach work in local schools. Every year our experienced education team works with primary and secondary schools across rural Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire to introduce opera to those with less access to the arts.

Hundreds of youngsters participate in workshops, using storylines, characters and music to inspire curiosity and extend their imagination. By making opera inclusive and accessible we hope our work ensures the relevance of the art form for generations to come.

Book ahead by calling the Box Office on 01451 830292.
