Leonore and Florestan cast announced for Fidelio

Preparations are well underway for our 2017 Festival, and we’d like to share our latest exciting news on casting for Orpha Phelan and Madeleine Boyd’s Fidelio.

Elizabeth Atherton appears as Leonore in her first performance at Longborough Festival Opera. ‘Startling, inventive and compelling’ (Independent), Elizabeth Atherton is described as equally at home on the opera stage or concert platform. A frequent performer at Opera North and for Welsh National Opera, she joins us at Longborough fresh from performances with BBC NOW, the Hallé and the Royal Opera House.

Adrian Dwyer - Florestan

ADRIAN DWYER TACKLED THE STRATOSPHERIC TENOR ROLE - A VERITABLE MATTERHORN IN ITSELF – WITH HEROIC STAMINA

The Times

Adrian Dwyer’s Florestan will be his debut appearance at Longborough Festival Opera. Born in Melbourne, Adrian studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio, making his professional debut in Baz Luhrmann’s La Bohème in Los Angeles. Alongside Longborough, his recent and future highlights include performances for Welsh National Opera, English National Opera, and English Touring Opera.

Fidelio tickets

Tickets are now available online and by phone to Patrons. Booking opens to Friends on 30 January 2017, and general booking opens on 6 March 2017.
