Contract: 12-month temporary contract. 2.5 days a week, with flexibility around our activities

Salary: £25,000 pro rata

Location: Hybrid working, with willingness to travel between our Gloucestershire base and London

This is a new role, responsible for producing in-house digital content and overseeing Longborough Festival Opera’s social media and digital channels. This is ideal for someone with a passion for storytelling on social media and a flair for content creation.

Reporting to and collaborating closely with the Head of Marketing & Box Office, the position will generate digital content for social channels, and will contribute to email, website and paid campaigns.

Due to the nature of this role you will often be required to work out of hours and weekends, attending rehearsals and events in London and in the Cotswolds, our local education activities, and particularly on site during the Festival period at Longborough (April – August).


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Social media management

  • Develop and execute social media campaigns to grow audiences, drive engagement, and foster community across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and emerging channels
  • Develop and implement a rolling content calendar for digital platforms
  • Actively monitor and engage with social media communities, responding to interactions and fostering positive relationships
  • Stay informed on trends, competitor activity, and platform innovations, applying best practices to social media presence

Content creation and creative collaboration

  • Oversee creation and publishing of engaging and accessible content across social media channels
  • Act as a brand guardian, ensuring online content aligns with Longborough’s tone of voice and visual identity guidelines
  • Take responsibility for composing, proofing and publishing social media posts
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Marketing & Box Office on content for website and email marketing
  • Produce content that highlights Longborough’s artistic ambition, behind-the-scenes moments, and community engagement by attending performances, rehearsals, member events and education projects
  • Engage staff across the organisation to contribute to digital storytelling

Analytics and reporting

  • Use analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite) to measure the effectiveness of content

The post-holder will play an active role within the organisation and undertake other duties as required.


Person Specification

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in capturing content and a keen interest in social media
  • A passion for the arts sector, particularly opera or classical music
  • Strong storytelling skills, with an eye for detail
  • Proficiency in tools for content creation such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Premiere), or similar

Desirable:

  • Experience in using Meta Business Suite or other scheduling platforms
  • Experience using email marketing platforms
  • Experience with website content management systems and an understanding of user experience
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and digital advertising platforms
