Longborough Festival Opera (LFO) is looking for a Fundraising & Box Office Assistant to join our friendly, hardworking team at a particularly exciting time for the organisation.

This is a varied, hands-on role that assists both our audience experience and our fundraising activity, making it ideal for someone looking to build a career in the arts, fundraising or audience services.

About the Role 

As Fundraising & Box Office Assistant, you will provide essential administrative and customer-facing support across two closely connected areas of the organisation: 

  • Fundraising, helping to deliver excellent stewardship to new and existing members as well as grant application support and research 
  • Box Office, ensuring a smooth, friendly and efficient experience for audiences booking tickets 
  • You will be a welcoming point of contact for visitors, members and donors, helping to ensure that everyone who interacts with Longborough feels valued, informed and welcome. 
  • You will be good at data analysis and research, and be AI literate. 

Reports to: Individual Giving & Membership Manager & Box Office Manager 

Works with:  Colleagues across Development, Box Office, Marketing and the wider team and offering a fantastic overview of how a professional arts organisation operates. 

Key Responsibilities 

Fundraising Support 

  • Provide administrative support to the Development team, including processing donations and memberships 
  • Research Trusts & Foundations and assist with the completion of applications, leading to taking responsibility for smaller grant applications 
  • Assist with supporter communications, acknowledgements and thank-you letters 
  • Help maintain accurate donor and member records using Spektrix 
  • Support the delivery of fundraising events and supporter activity, particularly during the Festival season 
  • Act as a friendly and professional first point of contact for supporter enquiries 

Box Office Support 

  • Process ticket bookings by phone, email and in person, delivering excellent customer service 
  • Process ticket sales, exchanges and returns using Spektrix 
  • Respond to audience enquiries with warmth, accuracy and efficiency 
  • Support front-of-house and Box Office operations during performances, acting as a main point of contact for audiences and remaining confident in a busy, fast-paced customer-facing environment 

Administration & Team Support 

  • Assist with data entry, reporting and general administrative tasks 
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments, particularly during busy Festival periods 
  • Support seasonal peaks with flexibility and a positive, can-do approach 

Who We’re Looking For

  • Calm and professional under pressure 
  • Interested in the performing arts 
  • Happy working both independently and as part of a small team 

Experience in customer service, administration, fundraising or box office work is desirable, but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, attention to detail and enthusiasm for the role. Experience of working with a CRM database is preferable but training on Spektrix will be given.

Additional Info

Salary: £23,000–£24,000 per annum 

Contract: Full-time, permanent 

Location: Longborough, Cotswolds (a driving licence and access to a car are required due to our rural location) and some remote working will be possible  

Working pattern: Some evening and weekend work will be required, particularly during the Festival season
