This wine-soaked comic masterpiece is one of Donizetti’s most-loved works, and one of the most popular operas of all time. Performed in English, under the baton of Alice Farnham and directed by Giffords Circus’s Cal McCrystal, this will be a joyful show for all the family.

Cal McCrystal was comedy director for the hit show One Man, Two Guvnors at the National Theatre, for Don Quixote at the RSC and School Of Rock on Broadway. He has created many international touring shows including The Mighty Boosh (Perrier Award), and directed Noel Fielding’s international tour. His first opera production of Haydn’s Il mondo della luna for ETO was nominated for a Manchester Theatre Award, and his recent production of Iolanthe for ENO received rave reviews. He has worked as a comedy consultant for films including The World’s End, The Nice Guys, and the Paddington series.
Cal has directed clown routines for Cirque du Soleil, and is currently director for Giffords Circus.
